Vos Logistics specialises in transport and customer-specific logistics services. With a network of 35 of its own branches, Vos Logistics operates throughout Europe. Over 2,400 employees operate a modern fleet of 1,000 vehicles, 3,700 load units and 275,000 m² of storage capacity. The underlying principle is always the same: to make logistics simple, efficient, and manageable for all of its customers.
In Barendrecht, there is a compact forwarding office with around fifteen staff members, which grew out of the head office in Oss. It is a dynamic and growing site characterised above all by short lines of communication, where you work closely together and everyone is approachable. The Forwarding team consists of five colleagues and organises transport to virtually all European countries. This mainly involves road transport (approximately 90%), supplemented by occasional ocean and air freight. In addition, there is a dedicated transport team that focuses on shipments to and from Italy.
As a freight forwarder, you are responsible for organising transport solutions within Europe, with a strong focus on Eastern Europe, France, and the United Kingdom. You work extensively with LTL shipments, and also place loads at the best possible margin. You operate in an environment where loads are bought and sold daily, and where you are constantly liaising with carriers, partners, and colleagues.
You will carry out most of your purchasing and sales activities through a fixed pool of hauliers with whom you actively negotiate. Picking up the phone is an integral part of this. A large part of your work (approximately 60%) involves working in systems: booking journeys, entering data and coordinating loading and unloading times, in close collaboration with colleagues from the customer service department.

More important than a completed diploma is that you are flexible, quick to understand, and can easily adapt to an organisation that is constantly evolving.
