RR-Recruitment is looking for a Project Engineer Warehousing for Samsung SDS Smart Logistics in Tilburg or Born (can work from either location). Are you a warehouse engineer or project engineer who is strong with systems and gets energy from improving warehouse operations? Are you currently working for a logistics service provider and ready for the next step? Then this role within an international logistics organisation is for you.

Samsung SDS Smart Logistics, part of the South Korean multinational Samsung Group, is a rapidly growing logistics service provider with operations in over 40 countries and more than 4,500 employees. The organisation focuses on supply chain solutions and logistics consultancy, supported by its proprietary Cello platform.
Samsung SDS handles warehousing and logistics for a variety of international clients from its branches in Tilburg and Born. Within the Warehouse Innovation team, continuous efforts are made to improve processes, systems, and warehouse layouts. RR-Recruitment is looking for a Project Engineer Warehousing to further expand this team.
As Project Engineer Warehousing, you are part of the Warehouse Innovation team, which is managed by the Warehouse Innovation Manager. The team consists of experienced logistics engineers and WMS specialists, spread across Tilburg and Born, with over ten years of experience in the field. They are independent professionals who largely manage their own projects.
You work daily with Cello, Samsung SDS's own warehouse management system. You start by familiarising yourself with the system and its processes, conducting gap analyses, and picking up ongoing improvements. As you become more familiar with the system and the organisation, you will take on larger projects, such as designing and implementing WMS solutions for new clients. You will do this in close collaboration with the development team in Korea.
Within the operation, you will fulfil a second-line role. First-line support is present at each location. If you cannot resolve issues together, you will liaise with the development team in Korea. You are explicitly not an IT professional, but an engineer who bridges the gap between logistical practice and the system.
Additionally, you analyse data, such as the number of movements and the required man-hours, and translate this into substantiated choices. During go-lives, you are present on the floor to see if everything is working. You regularly visit the sites in Tilburg, Born, Germany, and Italy, where the majority of the business is located. The amount of travel depends heavily on the ongoing projects. During a go-live, you will be on-site almost weekly for a few weeks, after which a quieter period follows. You are always home at the weekend. When you are not on a site, you work from the office in Born or Tilburg.
